A Hands-On Batik Workshop in Bali

This Batik Class Bali experience is designed for travellers who want to do more than simply see finished textiles. During the workshop in Tohpati, you take part in the making process yourself: learning about the materials, applying wax with a canting, adding colour, removing the wax and finishing your own piece.

Batik is an Indonesian wax-resist textile tradition. Rather than presenting it as exclusively Balinese, this experience gives visitors in Bali an accessible introduction to the wider Indonesian batik tradition through practical participation.

Because the activity involves hot wax and workshop tools, families travelling with younger children should confirm suitability when booking so the experience can be arranged appropriately.
